What is "Alternative metal"?   Alternative metal is a  aluminum metal alloy that is tarnish resistant.  It will not chip, dent or crack under normal use.  It retains cold and heat.  It is freezer safe but not dishwasher safe.  It cleans easily with baking soda and water.
